‘Nil Satis - Nisi Optimum’
7th ASMO-UK/ISSMO International Conference on Engineering Design Optimization
7 - 8 July 2008
Bath, UK
You are invited to present your research at the 7th International ASMO-UK/ISSMO conference on Engineering Design Optimization to be held 7 - 8 July 2008 in Bath, UK.
The ASMO-UK/ISSMO series of conferences provides an opportunity for researchers on multidisciplinary optimization from within and outside the UK to get together and share experience within a growing community. We encourage you to attend and present your current research. Application papers are particularly welcome.
Conference topics include, but are not exclusive to:
Multidisciplinary design optimization
Industrial applications
Design of experiments (physical and computational) methodology
Reliability-based design optimization
Metamodelling
Design sensitivity analysis
Distributed computing in design optimization
Integration of optimization tools in the design and manufacturing process
Numerical optimization techniques (gradient-based methods, approximation methods, evolutionary algorithms, etc.)
Topology, shape and sizing optimization
Inverse problems
Education in engineering optimization
Extended abstracts of 2 pages in length with figures and final or preliminary results (short abstracts will not be accepted) or full-length papers should be emailed to Dr Alicia Kim by Friday 1st May 2008.
Full-length papers in lieu of abstracts are welcome.
Keynote Speakers:
Professor Prabhat Hajela, Professor of Aerospace Engineering, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Troy, USA. Title: "Uncertainty Modeling in Composite Structural Design"
Dr Lars Krog, Airbus, UK. Title: "Structural Optimization in an Aircraft Design Process"
Please visit ASMO UK website at www.swan.ac.uk/asmo/ for more details.
