Hi, I am Jungeun An, a student of UF and KAIST, I have a question about the applications of cost-benefit optimization by Dr. Rackwitz.
Since my interest area is SHM, I am looking for a way to organize the inspection and repair procedure (maintenance) to a simple cost model.
As you know, in a single inspection procedure, we don't expect to find all the damages inherent in the structure. But too much inspection will increase the cost.
I would be glad if you can provide a good literature on this area. or the models used in those papers are concrete enough.
Joanni and Rackwitz, "Cost-benefit optimization for maintained structures by a renewal model". Streicher and Rackwitz, "Time-variant reliability oriented structural optimization and a renewal model for life-cycle costing".
Thank you.
